The Department of Animal Science offers a 2-year Diploma program in Animal Science and a 4-year Bachelor of Science program in Animal Science.
This course is designed for those interested in our relationship with and management of animals to serve community. Animal science involves traditional production and management areas of livestock and the basic sciences such as reproduction, physiology, genetics, and nutrition. Animal science is a broad field centered on the biology, production, management, and care of animals. Animal scientists are involved in all phases of domestic animal production, research, sales, service, business, and education.The course also develops practical skills including farm and agricultural practices, animal management and disease control. Student will also be trained in animal handling, have the chance to work on an independent research project, and take part in industry placements, applying received and gaining new knowledge and getting practical training.Career opportunity are various including farm manager, marketing specialist and animal technician as well as further post-graduate studies.
